LongoMatch

If you are watching sports, you may want to analyze certain moves, to make sure they are legal. Unfortunately, traditional media players are not equipped with the necessary tools for this course of action. You would need to play the footage in slow motion, identify players and more. LongoMatch is designed specifically for this task. It allows you to record games, insert annotations, tag positions and trajectories and much more. The software is quite flexible and it can be used for any sports.

LongoMatch is distributed under the GNU General Public License, which means that it is free. It works on all modern Windows platforms and it can be installed in less than a minute. The software doesn't need any additional drivers and it does not ask for too many resources.

When starting a new project, you can choose to load a video file from your hard drive, capture live footage, using a capturing device or an IP camera. You can also specify the playing teams and their players, a score, season, competition and other details. The software allows you to play your loaded videos on its user interface, just like any other media player. Additionally, it gives you the possibility of increasing and decreasing the playback speed, up to 5X and down to 1/25X. You can also take snapshots and insert various annotations, like arrows, circles and so on.

The software allows you to categorize playthrough events and players, from each team, which are listed on separate tabs, on the left side of the interface. When creating a category, you can specify the involved players, on a separate window, on which you can also specify the event's location on the field. Additionally, the categories can be placed in a timeline, so you will know exactly when the events occur.
